Key Features of Aspen Graphics v4.2
1.Charts
Since 1984, Aspen Research Group has built on the superior charting capabilities of Aspen Graphics to provide a full suite of technical analysis tools for serious traders. Aspen Graphics provides traders with the tools they need to trade quickly, effectively, and perform real-time analysis.
Tick Chart

A tick chart plots a hash mark at every trade in a range.
A tick chart offers a unique perspective on intraday market activity. The trading day is split into periods according to the time base you select. Then every price within a range is represented by a hash mark. Prices within a range are not necessarily sequential. A tic chart gives you a break down of the price activity within a range. At a glance, you can see where activity was sparse, and where it was dense. Traders use tick charts to identify intraday trends that are not apparent in other chart types.
Bar Chart

A bar chart defines a range and identifies the open and close。
A bar chart is the most popular form of charting and is, therefore, Aspen's default chart type. When a period opens, a hash mark is drawn to identify the open. As prices move away from the open, up or down, a vertical bar is drawn to identify the range. When the period ends, another hash mark is drawn to represent the period's last price. The top of this bar marks the highest price during that period.
Japanese Candlestick Chart

A japanese candlestick chart defines a range and the difference between the open and close.
Candlestick charting is an ancient Japanese form of market analysis. Japanese Candlesticks date back to the 1700's, when they were used for analyzing rice markets. At that time, Munehisa Homma, a legendary rice trader, gained a huge fortune using candlestick analysis and established popularity for the technique. Steve Nison's seminal book, Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques, gave rise to candlestick popularity, and it remains a popular, often preferred, charting method.
Line Chart

A line chart shows price history by connecting closing prices together
The simplest form of market charting, a line chart connects a price series together with a line. Typically, analysts focus on the last price, but in Aspen, not only can you create line charts on a variety of prices, but also on derived values like mid-point, average, and true range.
Point & Figure Chart

A Point & Figure Chart is a charting technique that tracks major price trends.
Point & figure charting plots price movements without taking into consideration the passage of time. Point and figure charts are composed of a number of columns that consist of a series of stacked Xs or Os. A column of Xs is used to illustrate a rising price, while Os represent a falling price. A point & figure chart ignores intraday price fluctuations, and focusing instead on critical support and resistance levels.
